This large, spreading spinach has deep-green, curled leaves. It's a good yielding, dependable home garden variety that is fairly resistant to bolting. Keep plants well-watered during dry periods to help promote growth. Water early in the day so the foliage has time to dry off before evening (to minimize disease problems). Don’t wait too long to harvest, or wait for larger leaves, as the leaves can quickly become bitter after maturity. Spinach is delicious steamed, fresh in salads, and in soups and casseroles.
